A life of Labels and names

9/6/2011

We live in a life of labels where everything from illness to the angels and guides that we communicate with have to be given a title or name  in order for us to place it into a box and be comfortable with it. But yet are those labels always the best way forward. Surely sometimes the restrictions and limitations they place within that persons mind can be so disabilitating that it ithey causes more destruction than if they had just been left as symptoms or a message from a higher spirit.

For if it is an illness that is labeled upon a person, they begin to live within that illness, be that illness and follow the treatments listed for that illness. But what if that person took the time to understand the illness and why it is being presented to them. What if they considered the consequences as to why this has arisen and tried to deal with the emotional aspect of it rather than just accepting it. Surely then the person has more chance of recovering from it and moving into a more positive outlook than taking pills or medicine for the rest of their lives.

Where a label is given to a spirit/ guide, those who identify with that angel/god/spirit guide will be comforted by the words given. Those who do not understand those labels or fear them will shy away from them and be turned away from the information that is given. So why is it we have to identify a name when we are collectively all working as part of the same source. I guess the answer lies in the very reason why we all have to be identified individually by name. It is just simply a way of ensuring that we retain our individuality but in the end it also creates a limitation on our belief that we are collectively one and therefore the ability to completely love unconditionally. For to love unconditionally means letting go of the individuality and learning to love everyone and everything in the same way as if they were one. It is no wonder that we have become a society of people who want nothing more than to stand out of the crowd and be recognised as someone wonderful. Yet collectively we are all wonderful and amazing and we are all one and if were to truly work together as one the world would become a much more loving and wonderful place to be.

I think that is very insightful when you say 'For if it is an illness that is labeled upon a person, they begin to live within that illness, be that illness and follow the treatments listed for that illness'

very true words! And can be applied to many things! Lovely blog entry.

Yes I agree Sarah. A bit like the book by Byron Katie, Who Would I Be Without my Story?
